This lovely pink box from Michael's doesn't fit my decor.

Observe how inept I am at spray painting...finger paint, every time.

I started out with this wooden advent calendar I got on clearance at Pat Catans after Christmas last year.  I think I paid around $4 for it.  One side of the roof is cracked but we will be covering that up with snow.
I painted the undercoat in the house colors with regular acrylic paints and let dry completely.

I spray painted with black paint the outside of the drawers and housing.  I let the over spray hit inside the drawers and the drawer openings on the housings.  I like the effect that gives

I used a sanding block to uncover some of the color by taking off black paint along the edges of the housings and the drawers.

I used several Thickers to get the numbers 1 - 25.  Thickers are dimensional and I had them on hand.
Cut pictures the size of the drawers fronts and one for the top of the housing.  Use Matte Mod Podge to adhere the pictures to the drawer fronts.  I used pictures from a desk calendar so I didn't have to print new pictures.  I don't recommend photo paper, standard printer paper works best.  I sanded the drawers after I added the pictures.  I also thought that it needed a bit of glitter so I added that to the perimeter of the drawers.

Use Snow-Tek or your choice of snow-like product to cover the top and inner-top layer to give it a snow background.

These polymer clay people I made last year by watching some YouTube tutorials.  I finally found a spot for them.  The tree I bought after the season last year also.  Glue them down while the snow is still wet.

Here are some pictures of the finished calendar.

Glass Etching <3

Two projects using a bunch of stuff!
This was a wood frame with chalk board.  I used some trinkets from the miniatures at the craft store and a little wooden bucket.  I painted the frame yellow, then blue and distressed the edges with sandpaper.  There are also bottles field with beads, butterfly wood veneer and some wild orchid flowers on the trellises.  There wasn't a shelf to put the bucket (for chalk) on so I added one.
These were two wooden drawer organizers.  I decided that they would work well as a tray to display pictures and memorabilia along with decorations.  I used paper, wild orchid flowers, bling embellishments, metal pieces and miniatures to complete this project
